High Academic Standards

High Academic Standards iconHigh Academic Standardstitle

Orland Unified is dedicated to achieving high standards. The state standards are taught at all grade levels with state-approved, newly-adopted textbooks and supporting materials. For example, these world-class standards start kids learning algebra concepts in the first grade. Sophisticated computer software tracks each student's progress, so that academic programs can be tailored to meet individual needs. The District plans to offer this software to parents, so they can participate more fully in their child's education.

Since the Orland schools are now unified, curriculum articulation allows future teachers to build on the successes of the past. The goal is to provide seamless transitions between all levels of education, so that students do not experience gaps or unnecessary overlaps in their learning.
