ONE (1) - BUS DRIVER/CUSTODIAN/GARDENER: OUSD is seeking a candidate for an 8 hour per day 12 month per year BUS DRIVER/CUSTODIAN/GARDENER position. Shift will be 2:30pm-11:30pm. This position will qualify for night differential stipend. Shift subject to change during holiday (6:30am-3:00pm) and summer breaks (6:00am-2:30pm). Must be able to complete the requirements to obtain a California Special Driver Certificate (School Bus License.) Preferred candidates will have a Class A or B passenger endorsements license. Range 13 on Classified Salary Schedule.

Accounting Technician: OUSD District Office is seeking a candidate for an 8 hour per day Accounting Technician. Shift 7:30am-4:00pm. Salary Range 2 on the Confidential and Supervisory Salary Schedule.
 
BASIC FUNCTION:
 
Under the direction of the Chief Business Official, perform a variety of accounting duties. Process financial information, documents and transactions; prepare and maintain accurate financial and statistical records and reports. Assist administration in preparing documents for negotiations.
 
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (For purposes of the Americans with Disabilities Act all the functions listed below are considered essential).
               
  • Perform a variety of accounting duties in support of accounts payable, purchasing, payroll; process and verify various financial forms and documents; review transactions for errors and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Calculate, assemble, match, code, sort, tabulate, review, verify and post a variety of financial and statistical data; update accounts and related ledgers with income and expenditures; review data for accuracy and completeness; make corrections as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of auditable financial and statistical records, reports and files related to accounts, expenditures, income, taxes and assigned activities.
  • Process accounts payable as required; review, process and prepare invoices, claims, travel requests, reimbursements or other documents for payment; verify accuracy of documents including coding and cost calculations; match invoices with purchase orders; issue and distribute payments.
  • Receive, verify and process purchase requisitions as assigned; assure accuracy and completeness of order information and proper signatures; inspect orders for accuracy and completeness regarding account coding and cost calculations; generate and distribute purchase orders.
  • Assist the CBO with various accounting functions as required; assist in assuring integrity and proper use of school district funds; accuracy, completeness and proper coding.
  • Provide support for payroll services as assigned; process, verify and input timesheet information; process payroll deductions; assist in assuring employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner; issue paychecks and balance payrolls as directed.
  • Input, code and update a variety of accounting data in an assigned computer system; maintain automated financial records; initiate queries, prepare spreadsheets and generate a variety of reports; verify accuracy of input and output data.
  • Maintain contact with vendors to modify and clarify invoices and resolve discrepancies as assigned; confer with vendors and County Office personnel to resolve issues and problems related to invoices and accounts payable functions.
  • Process accounts receivable as assigned; receive, code and verify incoming monies; prepare and process receipts; check money totals against receipts and invoices to assure accuracy; prepare and arrange for invoices and billings; review and verify bank deposits as required.
  • Prepare, compare and reconcile statements and other financial documents; identify, research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate with school site personnel and various outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns; initiate and receive telephone calls.
  • Operate a variety of office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software.
  • Compose, distribute and respond to a variety of correspondence related to assigned accounting functions; duplicate and distribute materials as needed.
  • Prepare tax and various other fiscal forms as assigned; process various special transactions such as stop payments, void checks, and sales and use tax as required; participate in a variety of special projects.
  • Assist in the management of the insurance plan.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Certificated Substitute Daily Rates - This salary schedule is temporary and has been increased to address the certificated
substitute shortage. The term of this schedule shall be effective August 15, 2022 and
end June 30, 2023.

Long Term Substitute Rate Starting on the 21st Consecutive Day
