| | New Web Site Launched
State Superintendent Jack O’Connell recently announced the launching of a new Web site to help parents and teachers gain a better understanding of the CSTs and other aspects of the STAR Program. The new Web site includes dozens of former test questions, which no longer will be used, as well as a parent guide for each grade level that parents can download and print easily. It is hoped that this online resource will lead to increased collaboration between parents and teachers and, ultimately, to increased student learning.
Feedback from numerous focus groups, composed of parents, community members, and teachers, guided the development of the Web site. The focus groups indicated a desire for clear and easily obtained information regarding the STAR tests and the performance levels students are expected to attain. The information is designed to be easy to understand and enhance parents’ understanding of the STAR Program. The CDE provides this information on an ETS Web site (Outside Source). | |
